Elvis Presley's former home of Graceland is up there as one of the most famous pieces of real estate on the planet.

The King bought the property in 1957 and lived there until his tragic death 20 years later.

It was inherited by Elvis's father Vernon and then daughter Lisa Marie, with the house becoming a museum in 1982.

It earned a place on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991 and being declared a National Historic Landmark in 2006.

Graceland has recently been in the news after an apparent auction of the property was blocked following seemingly fraudulent claims it has been used as collateral for a loan taken out by his daughter Lisa Marie in 2018.

Following Lisa Marie's death last year, Elvis' granddaughter Riley Keough is the sole trustee of Graceland, and she has confirmed that nothing untoward will happen to it on her watch.

“My hope is to continue what my grandmother [Priscilla Presley] did, and then my mother did, which is simply to preserve our family home," Riley told People.

Set in 13.8 acres in Memphis, Graceland is the final resting place of Elvis, as well as his daughter Lisa Marie and her 27-year-old son, Benjamin Keough, who died from a died by suicide in July 2020.
