Lindsey Buckingham opens up about Fleetwood Mac firing

Lindsey Buckingham only just played a major show at London Palladium.

Lindsey Buckingham has been forced to cancel the remaining UK and European dates on his current solo jaunt.

The former Fleetwood Mac guitarist has been touring his self-titled seventh solo album for the past year and played his most recent show on Saturday (October 1).

Lindsey performed a well-received set at the London Palladium at the weekend, but announced last night that the rest of the jaunt has been cancelled.

"Due to ongoing health issues, Lindsey is regrettably having to cancel the remaining shows on his current European tour," read a post on Lindsey's official Twitter feed.

"Refunds will be available from the point of purchase. Lindsey sends his deepest apologies to all of his fans who were planning to attend and hopes pt return to Europe in the future."

The next show on the tour was due to be tonight (October 3) at the SEC Armadillo in Glasgow.

Other cancelled shows were booked for Liverpool Philharmonic Hall on Tuesday, and The Helix in Dublin on Thursday.

Buckingham is due to return to the US for a show at the Paramount Center for the Arts in Bristol, Tennessee on Wednesday, October 26.

Lindsey Buckingham was released on September 17, 2021, and was trailed by the lead single 'I Don't Mind'.

The solo follow-up to 2011’s Seeds We Sow and was written, recorded and produced by Buckingham n Los Angeles at his own home studio.

"I wanted to make a pop album, but I also wanted to make stops along the way with songs that resemble art more than pop," Buckingham said.

"As you age, hopefully you keep getting a little more grounded in the craft of what you're doing.

“For me, getting older has probably helped to reinforce the innocence and the idealism that hopefully was always there."

Buckingham was fired from Fleetwood Mac in 2018, though in recent months there have been murmurs of a possible reunion, after a reconciliation between Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood.
