The group ended for good in 2022 with the death of Christine McVie, with Stevie Nicks making it clear that there would be no reunion under the Fleetwood Mac name after her passing.
Lindsey Buckingham last played in Fleetwood Mac in 2018, when he was forced from the band by his ex Stevie and replaced by Neil Finn and Mike Campbell.
Since Christine McVie's death, Nicks and Buckingham's relationship has shown little signs of being repaired, though Mick Fleetwood has urged some sort of thawing of tensions.

“I always have a fantasy that [Stevie] and Lindsay would pal up a bit more and just say everything's okay for them both," Mick told Us Weekly last month.
And the drummer has done his bit to keep things cordial with Buckingham.
Not only did Fleetwood and Buckingham pose together for photographs at the 6th Jam For Janie Grammy Awards viewing party at the Hollywood Palladium last month, but the two have even reunited in the studio.
Mick is currently working on a solo album, and Swedish producer Carl Falk has revealed that when Lindsey popped by for a visit he actually joined in on the recording.
"Slightly unreal moment to sit with Lindsey Buckingham and Mick Fleetwood to play Lindsey the album we have been working on," Falk wrote on Threads.
"And to see his genuine happiness for Mick to finally do his own album and offering to play guitar and to sing on it. Can't wait to finish this one."
