Is it just Rumours?

Fleetwood Mac have been together on-and-off through lineup changes big and small for nearly six decades now, but the band have been adamant in the last couple of years that they are no longer a going concern.

While there's been no official announcement of a split, Stevie Nicks has said that no reunion is possible since the death of Christine McVie in 2022, a sentiment echoed by Mac drummer and band ever-present Mick Fleetwood.

Despite that, Mick has also spoken of his desire to see some sort of reconciliation between Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham.

Stevie and Lindsey were romantic partners and musical collaborators before they both joined Fleetwood Mac and while they broke up during the recording of Rumours they continued to have a professional relationship.

Buckingham quit Fleetwood Mac in 1987 but rejoined in 1997. He was forced from the lineup in 2018 and later replaced by Neil Finn and Mike Campbell.

Now, rumours have started that there may be some sort of Fleetwood Mac reunion on the cards.

The hopes have been sparked by a seemingly relaunched Instagram account for the band, which has been followed by both Stevie Nicks and Mick Fleetwood.

Fan screengrabs posted on TikTok claim to show the account also following Lindsey Buckingham, but a closer look suggests that isn't quite the case, with the account following Buckingham having many more followers than the official relaunched profile.

The account has now been set to Private and doesn't seem to be accepting new followers. It follows four accounts and has just eight following it in return.

A new Fleetwood Mac TikTok account has also been launched which, like the Instagram profile, has an official badge.

However, despite excited posts from fans, there's no firm indication of a live or recorded return. The band could well be preparing a reissue of past work, or even just tidying up their social media profiles.
