The Beatles officially broke up in 1970.
But even over 50 years on, fans are still clamouring for the band's remaining members - Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr - to get together whenever possible.
Sadly, there was never an opportunity for a full-scale reunion before John Lennon was brutally murdered in 1980.
There was a period throughout the previous decade when he and Macca reconciled, and very nearly reunited the Fab Four on a whim, though it never came to fruition.
George, Ringo and Paul have since performed and recorded together on each other's projects, only ever officially reuniting in 1995 to record 'Free As A Bird' and 'Real Love'.
So, attention has turned to the children of each individual band member to step into the shoes of their fathers and come together.
Zak Starkey, Dhani Harrison, James McCartney, Julian Lennon and Sean Lennon are all successful musicians in their own right.
But they've all pursued their own paths rather than leaning on the influential heritage that The Beatles established.
In a recent interview, however, John Lennon's eldest son Julian revealed that he and his brother Sean have a "plan" to make music together soon.
Appearing as a guest on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast, Julian told the host: "We've talked about it. We have a plan at some point, when we both have the time to do it," in reference to working together.
"Yes, there's something we want to do together. We want to play around with an idea. I think it's a nice idea. I have to wait and see. I'm not winding you up, but it'll have its time and place."
Julian - who celebrated his 60th birthday earlier this year - didn't drop any further clues as to what his and Sean's collaboration would be.
But he acknowledged that it'd definitely be something special, as it's "the whole sibling thing and how our voices should sound together and do sound together."
Naturally, all John Lennon fans worldwide were immediately intrigued, knowing that his two talented sons from different eras of his life could forge a creative partnership.
Born in 1963, Julian was Lennon's first son with his first wife Cynthia, whilst the 'Imagine' legend had Sean with his second wife Yoko Ono in 1975.
During the same interview, Julian goes on to describe the pride and love he has for his little brother Sean.
"Sean’s a good kid. I love him immensely," Julian said. "He's incredibly talented, incredibly gifted. He works his ass off as a musician."
He praises Sean's tireless work ethic, reeling off the many bands he plays with, and how he's constantly playing himself, recording, or producing.
"He's always on. I'm very proud of him. I've kept my eye on him since he was a baby. I always took that mantle of, even when Dad passed away, 'Whatever you need, I’m here. I’ve got your back'."
"His life isn’t so straightforward. There’s been many ups and downs for him, too," Julian added. nodding to the fact Sean lost his father at a much younger age than him.
Despite having different mums - and John very much disregarding Julian throughout his youth once he left Cynthia - his and Sean's bond has only strengthened over the years.
Julian revealed that he and Sean either FaceTime or Zoom every few weeks, even reaffirming in an interview last year that Sean was his "best mate".
"We're brothers and we love each other deeply on that level," he said. "We just talk daily, same as anybody would."
The Lennon brothers reunited for Julian's 60th birthday celebrations in April, with Julian writing: "Having you there made my night & day… ❤️🙏🏻😘."
We're sure any future collaboration between the two will certainly make every John Lennon fan's night and day too.
