"I'm proud, ready and more than able to pleasure and titillate my friends at Glastonbury in June," said Sir Rod.
Next year will be the first time Rod has played Glastonbury in over 20 years, after he headlined the Pyramid back in 2002.
Sir Rod recently confirmed plans to stop "large-scale world tours" after his One Last Time jaunt in the US, but has absolutely ruled out retirement from touring.
Glastonbury's so-called Legend's Slot unofficially emerged in the '90s and '00s as a number of veteran performers were booked for the festival and played on the main stage in the afternoon on the final day.
Early examples included Tom Jones in 1992 and Johnny Cash in 1994.
More recent standouts have included the likes of Dolly Parton, Barry Gibb, Yusuf/Cat Stevens and Kylie Minogue, among many others.
