Sir Paul McCartney: it’s a “huge honour” to be a Companion of Honour
Sir Paul McCartney has said it is a "huge honour" to be made a Companion of Honour at an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
The former Beatle said in a statement: "I see this as a huge honour for me and my family and I think of how proud my Liverpool mum and dad would have been to see this."
McCartney attended the ceremony with his wife Nancy Shevell. He was presented with the honour by The Queen herself, and wore a suit specially designed by his daughter Stella McCartney.
