"A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall."
The first glimpse of the long-anticipated biopic for legendary folk singer-songwriter Bob Dylan, A Complete Unknown, is here.
In the teaser trailer for the James Mangold-helmed biopic, we can see Timothée Chalamet transformed into Dylan for the first time.
It shows the actor performing Dylan's classic 'A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall' amid shots of the artist's early life and musical career.
Taking on the role of such a heralded music great is a daunting task in of itself, but it also sounds like Chalamet has taken on his own singing for the role too.
His husky drawl is rather convincing on first listen, so hopefully it promises his overall portrayal of Dylan will be too.

A COMPLETE UNKNOWN | Official Teaser | Searchlight Pictures
The official description for the Searchlight Pictures film reads:
"Set in the influential New York music scene of the early 1960s, follows 19-year-old Minnesota musician Bob Dylan’s meteoric rise as a folk singer to concert halls and the top of the charts - his songs and mystique becoming a worldwide sensation - culminating in his groundbreaking electric rock and roll performance at the Newport Folk Festival in 1965."
Also introduced in the trailer are co-stars Edward Norton who plays Pete Seeger and Elle Fanning as Sylvie Russo.
A Complete Unknown also stars Monica Barbaro as Joan Baez who we see briefly, along with Boyd Holbrook as Johnny Cash, Dan Fogler as Albert Grossman, Scoot McNairy as Woody Guthrie, P.J. Byrne as Harold Leventhal, Norbert Leo Butz as Alan Lomax, and Will Harrison as Bob Neuwirth.
Mangold previously directed Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line - which bagged Reese Witherspoon the Best Actress gong at the Oscars for her portrayal of June Cash Carter, as well as a nomination for Joaquin Phoenix who played the 'Man In Black'.
Talking about the opportunity to direct a biopic about such a pivotal figure in popular music throughout the 20th century and beyond, Mangold said:
"It’s such an amazing time in American culture, and the story of a young, 19-year-old Bob Dylan coming to New York with, like, $2 in his pocket and becoming a worldwide sensation within three years - first being embraced into the family of folk music in New York and then, of course, kind of outrunning them at a certain point as his star rises so beyond belief."
It’s such an interesting true story and about such an interesting moment in the American scene."
There is no set release date for A Complete Unknown as of yet.
