Martin Scorsese has directed a brand new documentary focusing on a classic concert by Bob Dylan.
Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story focuses on Bob Dylan’s 1975-1976 Rolling Thunder Revue concert tour, where the folk rock legend performed in various small venues with a troupe of other artists such as Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and Roger McGuinn.
The two and a half minute trailer includes archive footage, as well as photos from the 1970s, including a video of Dylan driving his own tour bus.
The trailer also has concert footage of Dylan performing in whiteface make-up with a flower hat, which was his trademark style choice throughout the Rolling Thunder Revue tour.
It also includes interviews given by Dylan and Baez for Scorsese’s new documentary.
“Joan Baez and me could sing together in our sleep,” says 78-year-old Dylan, before the trailer shows an archive video of them duetting together.
Scorsese previously directed No Direction Home, which told the story of Dylan’s rise to fame, and his decision to go electric in the mid-1960s.
The new film, which has been described by Netflix as “part documentary, part concert film, part fever dream”, will be released on June 12.
