Bruce Springsteen has revealed that he plans on taking his E Street Band back on tour next year to promote his new album.
The Boss confirmed that the E Street Band will head back into the studio for a new album later this year, ahead of touring in 2020.
Bruce Springsteen will release his new album Western Stars on June 14, and has now said that he’ll reunite with his band very soon.
Speaking to Italian site Repubblica, he explained: “I’ll record with the E Street Band in the autumn, and when we are done, we’ll go on tour [next year].”
The legendary singer recently teased the new album in an interview with Martin Scorsese for Springsteen on Broadway, saying: “About a month or so ago, I wrote almost an album’s worth of material for the band."
He added: “There’ll be another tour!”
His latest album is rather different from his E Street Band output, experimenting with Southern California pop music of the 1970s.
“Glen Campbell, Jimmy Webb, Burt Bacharach, those kinds of records. I don’t know if people will hear those influences, but that was what I had in my mind,” Springsteen explained.
“It gave me something to hook an album around; it gave me some inspiration to write.”
He added: “It’s connected to my solo records writing-wise, more Tunnel of Love and Devils and Dust, but it’s not like them at all.”
