Live concert footage comes from King and Taylor's joint Troubadour reunion tour in 2010, as well as other notable performances from throughout the years, notably 2007 and 1970.
Classic tracks such as 'You’ve Got A Friend', 'It’s Too Late', and 'Sweet Baby James' feature prominently, with the trailer including performances of 'So Far Away' and 'Fire and Rain'.
Merging footage of King and Taylor being interviewed in July 2021 at the Southern New Hampshire University Arena in Manchester with numerous other interviews through the years, the pair discuss their story together at length.
They unravel the stories of iconic songs such as 'You’ve Got a Friend' which won a Grammy for 'Song of the Year', but also focus on their long-standing friendship.
King explains that the award-winning song “purely came through me” when she was writing it.
"We had a musical language in common," said Carole as she describes the musical relationship she has with Taylor.
"It was like we had been playing together our entire lives".
Friends and collaborators also share their opinions of the duo, with Danny Kortchmar, Russ Kunkel, and Lee Sklar commenting, as well as musician and producer Peter Asher.
Carole King & James Taylor: Just Call Out My Name has already aired in the US but will be streamed at a later date on HBO Max and NOW TV here in the UK.
