David Essex OBE is back.

The star behind international hits like 'Rock On' has announced his return to the road, with a massive 20-date UK tour set to take place in 2024.

David Essex's tour will see the iconic singer perform throughout Britain in August and September 2024, culminating in a concert at the historic London Palladium.

Promising to perform a career-spanning set of hits like the classic 'Hold Me Close' and 'Gonna Make You A Star', it marks Essex's first tour since 2022.

Enjoying a lengthy and remarkable career since shooting to fame in 1971 after starring in musical Godspell at the age of just 23, Essex went on to become a domestic pop legend.

The object of affection for teenage girls around the British Isles, David went on to become an icon of the era, starring in films, theatre, television, alongside his stellar career as a pop star.

The peak of David Essex's international success came in 1973, when he starred in the British coming-of-age drama That'll Be The Day.

Featuring alongside The Beatles' very own Ringo Starr, the film - shot on the nostalgic surrounds of the Isle Of Wight - was a major success and spawned a sequel the following year, Stardust.

David achieved the most success from the film's release however, scoring a UK number one and international breakthrough hit with Grammy Award-nominated 'Rock On'.

He was also nominated for the BAFTA for Most Promising Newcomer to Leading Film Roles, which helped pave the way for his successful career as an actor.

Continuing to act from then onwards, he's gone to star in historic BBC soap Eastenders, and in West End theatre productions like Evita, Footloose, and Andrew Lloyd Webber's Aspects Of Love.

David's most recent album came in 2013, with the release of Reflections.
