While nothing can beat the thrill of a live musical performance, a number of artists have looked to technology in recent years to help make their concerts extra special.

Paul McCartney has used de-mixing software and video screens to have a duet with his late Beatles bandmate John Lennon, while ABBA have gone as far as completely recreating their younger selves for the Voyage extravaganza.

McCartney also took advantage of de-aging tech for his 2021 music video for 'Find My Way', which featured a young Paul McCartney somehow singing the present day Macca's new single.

Now Donny Osmond has taken a lead from all of the above for his own upcoming live shows by recreating a younger Donny that he can duet with on stage.

"Donny has a new co-star for his Las Vegas residency: HIMSELF," read a post on Donny's website.

"History is in the making as Donny shares the stage with his 14-year-old self.

"With amazing technology, today's Donny talks and sings with the 1972 Donny!"

For those unconvinced, Donny shared a clip on Instagram of him and his younger self having a chat.

"I'm the real Donny Osmond," says Donny, prompting his younger self to retort: "But I'm the original Donny Osmond."

Donny asks Young Donny: "What does it feel like to sing with yourself 50 years in the future?"

Young Donny replies: "Well, it's kind of like singing with your grandpa."

Donny and Young Donny are currently performing together at Harrah's Showroom in Las Vegas, with the residency extended until June 2025.
