'Two Tickets to Paradise' singer Eddie Money dies, aged 70

American singer Eddie Money has passed away at the age of 70.
The artist had big hits in the 1970s and 1980s, with songs including 'Two Tickets to Paradise' and 'Take Me Home Tonight'.
Eddie Money released 11 albums and sold nearly 30 million records in a four-decade career.
He also appeared in Real Money, a reality series that launched just last year. It was revealed on the show that he had stage four oesophageal cancer.
The Money family said in a statement: "It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. It's so hard to imagine our world without him. However he will live on forever through his music."
Born Edward Joseph Mahoney in Brooklyn, New York in 1949, he released his first, self-titled album in 1977.
He saw big success in 1986 with his Can't Hold Back album and the Ronnie Spector duet 'Take Me Home Tonight'.

"I thought I was just going in to get a check-up, and he told me I got cancer," Money said in a clip from his recent reality show.
"Am I gonna live a long time? Who knows, it's in God's hands. But you know what? I'll take every day I can get. Every day above ground is a good day."
Eddie Money is survived by his wife Laurie and five children.
