Mike Rutherford says a Genesis reunion with Phil Collins could still happen

It's been over 10 years since Genesis last performed together live, but Mike Rutherford has hinted that the trio could soon return.

Rutherford - who's back with a new Mike + the Mechanics tour and album - said that he, Phil Collins and Tony Banks are "all fit and healthy and we get on well, so who knows?"

The band first formed in the late 1960s with frontman Peter Gabriel, but found huge success in the 1980s with Collins as their singer, with hits such as 'Invisible Touch' and 'Turn It On Again'.

"I’ve always said, for years, never say never and we did the tour 10 years ago, and Phil is in good shape," Rutherford said on Good Morning Britain. "We’re all fit and healthy and we get on well, so who knows?"

The band announced a reunion tour back in 2006, and the comeback shows sold out in just 90 minutes. However, Phil Collins announced his retirement in 2011 due to illness.

Phil has since returned to live performing, though he now recruits his young son to perform drums for him.
