Summer of Soul (...or, When the Revolution Could Not be Televised) documentary trailer
The Empress of Soul comes to the UK for one last time.
Gladys Knight is coming to the UK for what is being billed as her Farewell Tour.
The soul superstar has been performing since back in the 1950s, when she was a founding member of the Pips before she was even ten years old.
"Since she began her career in the 1950s performing with The Pips, the award-winning singer has recorded more than 40 albums and enjoyed No.1 hits on the Pop, Gospel, R&B and Contemporary charts," said tour organisers.
"Known for her collection of classic hits such as 'Midnight Train To Georgia', 'Help Me Make It Through The Night', 'Licence To Kill', 'The Way We Were', 'Baby Don't' Change Your Mind', and 'You're The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me', Gladys Knight is one of music’s icons, and her contribution to pop culture unparalleled."
Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday, October 6, either direct from the venues, or from ticketline.co.uk and ticketmaster.co.uk. Support on all shows comes from special guest Mica Millar.
The live tour means that Gladys will be in the UK at the same time as the Glastonbury Festival, with availability on Friday, June 28.
The dates include a return to the Royal Albert Hall, where Gladys performed two shows last year.
