Lionel Richie will headline Isle of Wight Festival 2022, with Chic and UB40 on the bill

The 'Hello' singer is named as a joint headliner of the 2022 Isle of Wight festival.
Lionel Richie has been announced as a headliner of next year's Isle of Wight festival.
The 'Hello' singer will be a joint main stage headliner alongside Lewis Capaldi on Friday, June 16, 2022.
Other artists announced by the festival include Nile Rodgers & Chic, Mavis Staples, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell & Astro, and The Proclaimers.

Festival promoter John Giddings said: "We couldn't have asked for a better return to the island this year: we had sunshine all weekend and some fantastic performances.
"We're already looking ahead to next year and the artists announced today can't wait to come and entertain us over 16th - 19th June 2022."
Tickets for next year's festival go on sale this Thursday, September 30 at 8am. The festival takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport.
Also confirmed for Isle of Wight 2022 are Kasabian, Pete Tong & the Heritage Orchestra, Muse, Blossoms, Rudimental, Tom Grennan, Sigrid, Craig David Presents TS5, The Vaccines, Paul Heaton & Jacqui Abbot, Shaggy, Happy Mondays and The Coral.

After his initial success as the leader of Commodores, Lionel Richie went on to become a solo superstar, with chart-topping hits including 'Endless Love', 'Truly', 'All Night Long (All Night)' and 'Hello'.
His tenth studio album Tuskegee was released in 2012.
