Lulu explains how The Beatles kick-started her career: "I was madly in love with all of them"

Lulu has had one of British pop music's greatest careers.

Starting out as a 15-year-old with an incredible voice on her debut single 'Shout' in 1964, 60 years on she is about to embark on another tour.
Sadly, Lulu has confirmed that her Champagne for Lulu tour will also be a farewell tour.

In a new interview with Gold's David Andrews, Lulu explained why it's now time to say goodbye to gruelling tour schedules.
Lulu also opens up about working with David Bowie, hanging out with The Who before they were The Who, and how she owes her career to The Beatles.
"John Lennon and Paul McCartney were being interviewed on Ready Steady Go," she said. "They were not performing. Kathy McGowan said to them, 'so, boys, a lot of new records out this week. Which one's your favourite?'
"They both said, 'Lulu, 'Shout'.' Now, I put it all down to them, I just say, 'thank you, thank you, thank you, boys'.
"They kick-started my career because they were the biggest thing in the world. And the fact that they gave the thumbs up to my first single, I think kick-started my whole career.
"And of course, I was madly in love with all of them. It wasn't even one I preferred to the other, and I was like every other teenage girl.
"And then I got to work with them, got to meet them, I got to hang with them, I got to befriend them. So my life has kind of been magical."
