Mick Jagger, Cliff Richard, Paul McCartney lead music world's tributes for Queen Elizabeth II

“For my whole life Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II has always been there."
That's what Mick Jagger wrote in tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, and it's a sentiment that resonates with the entire nation, if not the entire world.
Queen Elizabeth II died on September 8, 2022, at the age of 96, and left an indelible legacy as Britain's longest-ever reigning monarch.
For 70 years Queen Elizabeth II has led our country with dignity, fulfilling her duties with compassion, care, and a lion's heart.
She's been a constant in an ever-changing world, offering hope and comfort to the nation in times when we've needed it the most.

King Charles III, her son and heir, released a statement in the wake of her passing:
"The death of my beloved mother, Her Majesty the Queen, is a moment of the greatest sadness for me and all members of my family. We mourn profoundly the passing of a cherished Sovereign and a much-loved mother."
Now the music world are all paying tribute to Her Majesty, including Mick Jagger, Paul McCartney, Cliff Richard, Elton John, Yoko Ono, Ringo Starr, Rod Stewart, Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor, Ozzy Osbourne, Stevie Nicks, and many more.
The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and Black Sabbath rocker Ozzy Osbourne led the tributes to Her Majesty. Jagger said his "deepest sympathies are with the Royal family", whilst Ozzy wrote that "it’s devastating the thought of England without Queen Elizabeth II."
Former Beatles Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr also paid their respects. Macca wrote "God bless Queen Elizabeth II". with Ringo sharing a similar message.
Sir Elton John and Sir Rod Stewart both took to Instagram to share their condolences to the royal family and the nation.
Yoko Ono and her son with John Lennon, Sean, co-penned a statement calling Her Majesty "a strong and powerful woman".

Queen's Brian May and Roger Taylor - who have been inextricably tied to the monarchy and its imagery since they started - shared their respects on the band's Twitter.
Other major rock stars like Ronnie Wood, Bon Jovi, and Billy Idol have all paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II also.

Ozzy's wife Sharon Osbourne has already posted a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II, calling her the "embodiment of strength, dignity and unwavering commitment".
Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks also commented on Her Majesty's passing, writing that she "showed all women how strong they could be", and Cher remembers her radiant sense of humour.

Patti Smith left an incredibly touching and poetic tribute on her Instagram, posting a picture of a young Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip together alongside the message: "Now they are back together."
Sir Cliff Richard has left a truly heartfelt and patriotic message on his Facebook profile in tribute to Her Majesty.
He wrote: "Our Queen was the most respected Monarch in the world, and I will always be proud to have been British under her incredible, record breaking, and dignified reign."
