Ozzy Osbourne cancels live shows and retires from touring due to poor health

Ozzy Osbourne had major fall a few years back leaving him with serious spine damage.

Ozzy Osbourne has been forced to cancel his upcoming live dates and announce his sudden retirement from touring,.

The Black Sabbath icon posted a heartbreaking message on social media revealing that health issues have put an end to him travelling.

"This is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to share with my loyal fans," Ozzy said.

“As you may know, four years ago, this month, I had a major accident, where I damaged my spine.

"My one and only purpose during this time has been to get back on stage."

He continued: "My singing voice is fine. However, after three operations, stem cell treatments, endless physical therapy sessions, and most recently groundbreaking Cybernics (HAL) Treatment, my body is still physically weak.

"I am honestly humbled by the way you’ve all patiently held onto your tickets for all this time, but in all good conscience, I have now come to the realization that I’m not physically capable of doing my upcoming European/UK tour dates, as I know I couldn’t deal with the travel required.

"Believe me when I say that the thought of disappointing my fans really F**KS ME UP, more than you will ever know."

Ozzy added: "Never would I have imagined that my touring days would have ended this way.

"My team is currently coming up with ideas for where I will be able to perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country.

"I want to thank my family……my band…..my crew…..my longtime friends, Judas Priest, and of course, my fans for their endless dedication, loyalty, and support, and for giving me the life that I never ever dreamed I would have."

Ozzy had previously announced live dates in Nottingham, Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester, Dublin, London and Birmingham for May and June 2023.

The unfortunately named No More Tours 2 live dates had already been rescheduled a number of times due to both the COVID-19 pandemic and Ozzy's own ill health.

Ozzy was recovering from pneumonia when he suffered a fall at his Los Angeles home in 2019, and the following year revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

Last September, Ozzy released his 13th studio album Patient Number 9, which was trailed by a single of the same name.

He played the track and his debut solo single 'Crazy Train' at an NFL match SoFi Stadium in California on September 8, 2022.

Ozzy sung Black Sabbath's 'Iron Man' and 'Paranoid' at the Commonwealth Games Closing Ceremony 2022 in his native Birmingham a month earlier. His last full-length show as on New Year's Eve, 2018 at Ozzfest 2018.
