Paul Simon has made a shock announcement of a full tour.

The Simon & Garfunkel legend and solo superstar retired from the road back in 2018, but will now play a series of live shows this spring and summer.

Rather than arenas or stadiums, the 2025 US tour dates are billed as A Quiet Celebration and will take in smaller, more intimate venues that might better suit his arrangements since his well-reported hearing issues.

Nevertheless, Simon will play a whopping 55 dates in 20 cities on the tour.

The Quiet Celebration tour will focus on Simon's Seven Pslams album from 2023, though will also feature songs from across his career.

Simon will be backed by a full band including Caleb Burhans on viola, Jamey Haddad on percussion, Gyan Riley on guitar, Mick Rossi on piano and keys,  Andy Snitzer on saxophone, Nancy Stagnita on flute, Mark Stewart on guitar and Eugene Friesen on cello. Steve Gadd and Matt Chamberlin will alternate on drums.

The announcement follow's Simon's unexpected duet with Sabrina Carpenter on the SNL 50 anniversary special, where the duo played 'Homeward Bound'.

Originally released as a duet with Art Garfunkel, Simon had previously played the song with George Harrison on Saturday Night Live back in 1976.
