"Here we go again!"
While The Who tease a return to the live stage in the near future, frontman Roger Daltrey has confirmed details of a solo tour.
The singer will play a series of live dates in 2025 where he'll mix up not just acoustic and semi-acoustic versions of classic songs by The Who and his own solo material, but also a Q&A session with fans to talk about his remarkable life and career.
Roger said: "Here we go again! After touring the US with this band of phenomenal musicians, I can't wait to get back on the road in the UK with these shows.
"It's a joy to be on stage performing - up close and personal for the audience, chatting with them and playing familiar songs in an unfamiliar way."
Tickets go on sale this Friday, November 15 at 10am via SJM.
Roger will be backed by a nine-piece band which includes Simon Townshend – younger brother of The Who's guitarist and songwriter Pete Townshend – who will play guitar and also sing along with Daltrey.
The rest of the band is rounded out by John Hogg (bass), Doug Boyle (guitar), Steve Weston (harmonica), Jody Linscott (percussion), Billy Nicholls (BV), Katie Jacoby (violin), Geraint Watkins (keyboard) and Scott Devours (drums).
Giving It All Away - Roger Daltrey Live
The full 2025 Roger Daltrey solo tour dates are as follows:
Despite his upcoming dates, Roger Daltrey said earlier this year that he's "on his way out", pointing to the average life expectancy and his own then-recent 80th birthday. He already said in January that his singing career was coming to an end.
He stepped down as the curator of the annual Teenage Cancer Trust concerts in 2024 after 30 years in the role, passing it on to the next generation.
But while he said a couple of months later that he can't see The Who touring again, his bandmate Pete Townshend has since confirmed that the band will return in 2025.
