Watch Timothée Chalamet sing three Bob Dylan songs on Saturday Night Live

Timothée Chalamet won't let Bob Dylan go just yet.

Timothée Chalamet has scooped up the awards nominations for his turn as Bob Dylan in hit biopic A Complete Unknown and it seems as though he isn't quite ready to give up being the singer-songwriter.

Just days after he picked up a Best Actor nod from the Oscars, Timothée was channelling Dylan once more, this time on Saturday Night Live.

In a stunning pair of performances, Chalamet proved to any doubters that yes, it very much is him singing in A Complete Unknown, rather than any technical jiggery pokery.

Chalamet is said to have sung 40 Dylan songs in the movie, while also playing the guitar and harmonica himself, with the performances recorded live while filming.

And rather than stick to the obvious hits for his spot on SNL, Timothée dipped a little deeper in the Dylan back catalogue for his choices, which he billed as his "personal favourites".

Chalamet opted to play 'Tomorrow Is A Long Time', a song that was first released on Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits Vol II in 1971, when a live version recorded at New York City Town Hall from April 1963 was included.

He also rocked things up with an electric medley of 'Outlaw Blues' and 'Three Angels', the latter of which he played as a duet with James Blake.

The first of those songs comes from Dylan's 1965 album Bringing It All Back Home and the second from 1970's New Morning.

Timothée was also the host of the show and gave the traditional gag-packed monologue at the top of the programme.

"I will say it was a little weird playing Bob Dylan right after I played Willy Wonka, but I actually discovered that the two men have a lot in common," he quipped.

"They're both eccentric. They're both innovators, and they both captured and enslaved hundreds of Oompa Loompas."
