Teenager arrested over suspected 'chilli spray' attack at Bristol Costco

A teenage boy has been arrested on suspicion of spraying people with a homemade chilli liquid, police have said.
Ten people, including the youngster, complained of stinging or itchy eyes following the incident at the Costco superstore in Avonmouth, Bristol, on Monday evening.
Emergency services were called just after 6.30pm and the teenager was detained by members of the public after spraying people with the liquid.
Store staff gave first aid treatment until ambulance crews arrived along with police officers and firefighters.
Those targeted responded well to treatment and were discharged at the scene, Avon and Somerset Police said.
The force said: "The liquid is believed to be a type of homemade 'chilli spray' with no strong acid or alkaline ingredients."
A youth has been arrested on suspicion of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and administering a noxious substance, and remains in police custody.
Police said the incident was over by about 8.30pm and the scene was cleared by 9pm.
