Two men in their 40s have been arrested after a 19-year-old man was allegedly raped in Brighton city centre.
The victim said he was approached around 3.30am last Saturday by two men who went on to rape him, police said.
He was eventually able to get help from a passerby who called the police.
On Thursday, a 40-year-old man from Redhill and a 42-year-old man from Chessington were both arrested on suspicion of rape.
They remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Sean Booth urged any witnesses to come forward.
"These arrests were as a direct result of excellent work from our dedicated team of staff, officers and the public," he said.
